Thanks for visiting, I hope you will find all the information you are looking for.  Please come by a class and see what all the fun is about, you have to experience a class to feel the energy and excitement.  I hope you'll dance with us and find that this is the program you have been looking for.  Whether it be your waistline again, more energy, to dance off a few pounds, or to just relieve some stress.   One of my favorite sayings in class is, "there is no wrong way to Zumba, there is barely a right or left in my class, as long as your moving and shaking something"!  Of course you always want to make sure it is OK with your doctor before you start any type of exercise program.  If you have any type of restrictions you want to let me know before class.  I can always offer you alternatives if you have any hip or knee problems or need to stay away from any high impact exercises.  That is the thing about ZUMBA FITNESS, you can make it your own.  Everyone goes at their own pace and gets their own level of workout in.  You are having so much fun you don't even realize you are exercising. ZUMBA FITNESS is something everyone can do!!!!
 
WHAT IS ZUMBA?
 
A Zumba workout mixes body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps mainly derived from Latin music.  The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms to tone and sculpt the body.  It targets areas such as the gluteals, legs, arms, abdominals and heart.  Participants do not have to know how to dance to take a Zumba Fitness class.  The move combinations and Latin rhythms strive to create a party-like atmosphere.  A Zumba class is typically not formulaic in that instructors often add on their own music choices and choreographies to make their class presentation locally unique.  Zumba Fitness has aligned with AFAA (Aerobic & Fitness Association of America), the American Council on Exercise, Can-Fit-Pro (International Trade Show &Conference in Canada), and other fitness facility chains and organizations.  Inspired by Latin dance and music, Zumba Fitness uses a variety of styles in its routines, including cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hip hop, mambo, rumba, flamenco, belly dance and calypso to name some of them.  Zumba Fitness will work EVERY part of your body!
 
WHO FOUNDED ZUMBA?
 
ZUMBA FITNESS started in the mid-1990's when a Colombian fitness instructor named Beto Perez arrived for one of his classes and realized that he had forgotten his traditional aerobics music.  He ran out to his car, grabbed a couple of salsa and merengue tapes, and ran the class to a Latin beat.  Perez had to improvise but this freestyle form of dance/aerobics would turn out to be Zumba's main selling point. 
 
 
WHAT IS ZUMBA GOLD?
              
Zumba For All Ages and Abilities!!!
The Zumba® Gold Fitness program is an innovative, fun and exciting program. It was designed for the active older adult, the true beginner, and/or people who are not used to exercising, or people who may be limited physically. The main difference between Zumba Gold and Zumba Basic is Zumba Gold is done at a lower intensity, not as fast, but it certainly is as fun. The same great Latin styles of music and dance are used.   This amazing program is very easy to follow so anyone at any age will be able to do Zumba Gold. Dances that are specifically highlighted in this program include the Merengue, Cumbia, Salsa, Rock & Roll, Belly Dance and Flamenco. Another program of Zumba Gold includes a chair workout for people who are sedentary or wheelchair bound
 
What is Zumba Toning?  
 
Zumba Toning takes the original Zumba dance-fitness class to the next level utilizing an innovative muscle training protocal and the addition of light weight toning sticks. (these are 11/2 pounds each)Created to emphasize muscle work along with rhythms,(they sound like maracas) this combination of cardio and dynamic resistive exercises is an effective use of progressive light weight training to improve overall performance.  This Latin-inspired dance 'n tone program also includes, for the first time combination rhythms within the same songs which adds to the fun and flavor:  Latin Disco, Reggaeton-Cubia, Conga Hip-Hop, Merengue Hip-Hop, Reggaeton-Belly Dance, Techno and Salsa.  This program is assured to provide you with a safe and effective, re-defining total body workout!  Zumba Toning created the same party atmosphere as every other Zumba program because the rhythm of the dance is the passion and foundation which keeps you engaged and coming back.  Zumba Toning is fun, different, challeging and effective and provides a new avenue to weighted activity.
 
 WHO SHOULD TAKE ZUMBA TONING CLASSES?  
A healthy individual without a known history of cardio-respiratory conditions, hypertension or joint injury may safely participate in a weighted workout.  
 WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE A ZUMBA TONING CLASS? 
Sedentary individuals just beginning an exercise program or individuals new to using weights should become familiar with the Zumba rhythms and corresponding muscle moves prior to adding weights to their workout.  
 Weighted workouts are NOT recommended without physician approval for: 
 -Individuals with a history of joint problems, tendonitis, bursitis or other orthopedic limitations
.-Individuals with a history of high blood pressure or who have an increased risk for stroke or heart attack.  The increased peripheral vascular resistance that may accur using weights causes an increase in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

This website helped me open my eyes and reprogram my eating habits.  I lost my first 15 pounds using this website however was stuck....
 
Another girlfriend of mine suggested in September of 2009 a fitness class called
ZUMBA with KIM..... After attending my first class I was hooked!!!
Since September 1st till now I have lost a total of 59 pounds and went from a size 22 now to a size 12!!!
 
Before I started my journey food was my drug of choice which I used to find my happiness..... Now my choice is ZUMBA with Kim!!!
